Teacher Planner 5 SKU: TP5 Mother of Divine Grace Teacher Planners are the perfect “student” supplement to Mother of Divine Grace syllabi. The comb-bound planners feature an easy-to-read format addressed to the student. The assignments for each week are found on facing pages and are broken down by subject and day. There is a box for the student to check off for each subject, so that one can see at a glance how things are going. In addition, each week has a Notes section for every subject in order to track any changes to assignments, field trips, extra-curricular work, deadlines, weekly grades, etc. The Teacher Planners are not a substitute for the corresponding syllabus, however. They are an aid that lists the student’s work, without giving the detailed explanations found in the syllabi. The student will need to refer back to the syllabus on occasion for particular directions.

Vision Book: Mother Seton and the Sisters of Charity SKU: 9780898707663 Born in 1774, Elizabeth Bayley grew up in a well-to-do Protestant family and seemed destined for a tranquil life. At age 19 she married William Seton and together they had five children. Tragedy struck when William died of tuberculosis in 1803. Elizabeth learned that her family fortune was lost as well. She converted to Catholicism at a time when Catholics were the object of persecutions in the United States. Her family was shocked by this decision. Elizabeth met Bishop Carroll of Maryland, and he gave her the inspiration to found the American Sisters of Charity and the first American parochial Catholic school. In time her order of sisters flourished, and they established more schools, orphanages and hospitals across the United States. At her early death (46 years old) Mother Seton's congregation numbered twenty-one communities throughout the country. Illustrated

Downright Dencey SKU: 9781883937799 "This treasure of a novel is set on the island of Nantucket just before the War of 1812. Much more than a tale of whaling ships and gentle Quaker eccentricities, it is a tale of friendship-the kind most truly espoused by these 'plain' folk, with all the struggle and complexity one should expect. Dionis (Dencey) Coffyn is a mystery to her mother, Lydia, whose stern exterior hides a heart that breaks every time her husband Captain Tom goes to sea. Within a context of outward simplicity of living and inward intricacy of relationship, Dencey matures from the little girl who, in unquakerly violence of temper, throws a rock that wounds the town outcast. She becomes a young woman ready to bear her part in life with grace and courage. Downright Dencey is a probing portrayal of the power of love to overcome social barriers and religious strictures"
